For the Stoics, the cosmos is a living, intelligent Being (God) whose essence is Reason. Reason guides everything in the cosmos, and the goal of human existence is to act in agreement with Reason. The Stoics were the first explicit pantheists, believing that the cosmos and everything in it is God, hence everything that happens is according to God’s divine plan, resulting in Stoics having a deterministic and fatalistic approach to life…
