There are Monks in society. No, I don’t mean religiously connected. At least not to the obvious institutions anyway. Monks are those who practice monism. That is, to stay away from society until a non-dual frame of mind pervades the mind-space, purging dualism from the psyche. Carl Gustave Jung called it Individuation. Christ did it by fasting in the desert. Buddha called it enlightenment. Each one of them met their demon.
